Fossils

These are amazing. These are fabulous tools to link us to the past. They are often associated with the ancestors and spirit. Personally, I prefer plant fossils for my work, but any and all fossils can achieve the same goals, it is whatever works for you. Fossils are physical manifestations that nothing is truly lost, energy, or life. Fossils are what happens when time and pressure turn things into stone. Which makes them great to strengthen rituals. Fossils can be used to communicate with the dead, protection, and help link yourself to your past lives. These are powerful tools and fantastic to use during meditation. I have also used fossils to help me reflect on past events to better myself for the future. Self-reflection is a powerful tool anyone can use. Please comment your experiences!

Clear Quartz

This is another one of those stones that is super easy to come by and use.  Many people use clear quartz for scrying and crystal gazing. Clear quartz is also used in creating pendulums. Clear quartz is often used in, if you haven't already guessed it, psychic readings. I have also found this stone very useful in amplifying energies. There are times and places when you may need more energy that what you currently have.  I find it extremely helpful when I need an extra boost in a ritual or if I need to amplify my focus (hello study sessions!) you can also use it to power through a more difficult work out. Let me know how you use clear quartz in the comment section below!

Amethyst

Amethyst is the Pikachu of stones for most pagans. It is common, cheap, and it makes a very pretty gift. You can even find natural amethyst at your local supermarket. Due to these fabulous factors, it makes it great starting place for any rock related practice. Amethyst is often used in healing work, overcoming bad habits, happiness, and finding peace. For me, I prefer to wear amethyst as a bracelet so not only do I gain the energy from the stone itself, but I have a visual reminder of my intentions. To use the stone, my suggestion is to hold the stone in your hand, whichever one feels most comfortable, and to meditate on what your intention is with the stone. For example, I would hold the amethyst in my right hand, and I would focus a habit breaking energy. I would focus on quitting my super addiction to sugar. I would repeat “I am no longer addicted to sugar” until I felt that the stone has heard my intentions. Once I feel satisfied with this, I would keep the amethyst with me wherever I went and when I am feeling weak, I will pull out the amethyst and say my intention. Give it a go and post your results below!

A few of my favorite things!

Rocks, crystals, and metals make up a grand majority of things we use and create. Diamonds in our watches, copper in our computers, and gold in our jewelry. We don't even think of how these different elements affect us. Each rock, metal, and crystal has different attributes associated with it to help us with different aspect of our lives. They are also a personal favorite of mine. Here I will post a rock, metal, or a crystal once a week to help with understanding and it's a lot of fun to talk about rocks. Stay tuned!
