If you are looking for a guide on the most needed tools to start practicing witchcraft, I’m pretty sure this isn't the first place you have read a master list of all the tools you need to buy and spend all your money trying to get. This list is different. So much different, I dare to say the ONLY list you will ever need to start your journey into the wonderful world of Paganism and Witchcraft. So let's dive into it and discuss the only real tools you will ever need to harness your craft.

  1. A notebook. Yes, really. A notebook. It can be any size, shape, design, or color you want. It can even be a binder with filler paper, if you really want you can even use scraps and a folder. It even counts if you use your email to take notes and just save them as drafts or email them to yourself. Any type of digital note taking source works. Word, Google docs, or even EverNote, are options to using a notebook without the risk of losing it.

  2. A library card. The best resource you can ever need. Need the internet, they got it, need help finding a scientific book on crystals, they got it. They also have all the pagan books you could want to read. It’s a free resource in your community that can save you millions on your journey.

  3. Internet. Yes the almighty Google can really come in handy with your research, and most likely how you found this site and this list. Using an internet search may be difficult, Hermes (A Greek God) and Hermès (these guys sell really high end purses) for example look very similar to google. It takes some trial and error, and skipping to page 10 before you start clicking links, but it does improve your search skills.

  4. Yourself. This is the MOST important tool you can need. All the magick is around you and is directed by you. The information comes into you and the experience comes from you. You can’t have a practice without you being involved. It’s your time and dedication that makes the magick happen, so never in a million years think that you’re not more important than a caldron, or a fancy knife.

Overall, this list, although I think it is the best list, you may choose to add more to this list that you feel your path needs. I added rocks to my personal list of tools that I HAD to have (and I do have quite a ton of rocks). Others may add plants, or even a caldron, but that’s not the important part of Paganism, that’s just the sprinkles and sometimes the frosting on top. Just like any good cake, it’s not needed, just definitely more fun with it.
