Earth is deep and alluring. It’s always steady, dependable, and always has space for growth. Earth is comforting and helps us steady ourselves when things seem chaotic or out of control. Sometimes things move too fast and we just need to slow down and take a moment. Using Earth is a great way of doing that. Earth is our strength when we need it the most and is always the most supportive. Earth changes slowly and can help you adjust to new things by easing you into them at your own place. Sometimes we need to handle things slowly and carefully with intention. Earth guides us with a loving hand and supports us while we grow into ourselves. The deep riches of the earth also allow us to find our prosperity, however it may look to us. Working with earth can really help you find your roots and assist you in discovering who you are. It helps you find your foundation and that is what makes you just as unshakeable as the earth is. When we find our roots, our truest of truths, we have the ground to stand on to keep us safe and warm. To keep us standing and growing tall and moving forward. Earth is where we live and will always be our home. Finding a true connection with it will always help, even in the moment it seems like it won’t. Earth will always be your strength and stability when you need it most. It is the foundation of which the other elements push and pull to grow and improve as well. A strong foundation provides a strong balance that is hard to shake.
Earth Associations: Colors: Green, Browns, Neutrals Rocks/crystals: Hag Stones, Sandstone, Obsidian Plants/herbs: Ferns, Trees, Basil Animals: Deer, Wolves, Bears Season: Winter Time of day: Midnight, my favorite Water Meditation: You’ll need: dirt, or go outside, hold a rock or plant DISCLAIMER: For my fellow neurodivergents, sitting still quietly does not work for everyone, it may work better for you to focus on fire while compiling a bomb fire playlist and taking a hike while you do the following meditation. Don’t let anyone trick you into sitting still! It’s just plain rude. First: Focus on your core or heart, I usually focus on my heart beat over my breath. I focus on my heart until I find my rhythm, or when I feel at ease with my body, or in sync. Second: Let your mind wander to a deeply wooded area. I personally enjoy walking deep into the woods on a dark path, the smell of pine and oak filling the air. Sometimes it feels a little spooky but I keep going because I know I’m safe. Next: Focus on Earth. How does it feel, how do you connect with it, what comes to mind when you think about earth. Enjoy your time here. Let earth show you what it needs to show you, what do you need from earth right now. It’s okay to let your mind wander at this moment and explore deeper. Finally: Come back down, I usually find myself coming out of it toward the end of my playlist, but it helps to walk yourself back down a blissfully sweet trail back into yourself. I always suggest journaling your meditations. It may not seem important at the moment, but it may be later on. Next Reads: Air Fire Water
